Deacon Ministry

This ministry is composed of men who have been set apart for the purpose of ministering to those who are in need. These men aid the pastor in caring for the congregation at large.

Trustee Ministry 

This ministry is composed of spiritually mature men and women of the church who aid the pastor in administrating the fiscal affairs of the church. These persons are elected by the church and serve a three year term.

Deaconess Ministry

This ministry is composed of spiritual women who have been trained to aid the deacons in the performance of their ministry.

Fine Arts Ministry

This ministry is designed to lead the church in worship through music. The music ministry consists of seven components:

(1) The Antioch Choir - a mixed adult choir 

(2) The Antioch Women's Choir

(3) The Antioch Men's Choir

(4) The Antioch Children's Choir 

(5) The Antioch Praise Team

(6) The Antioch Praise Dancers

(7) The Antioch Instrumental Ensemble 

      * This ministry is open to those who are interested and willing to commit to preparation to lead this congregation through music

(8)  The Drama Ministry

Usher Ministry

This ministry is designed to enhance the worship experience by providing an orderly entrance, seating and exit of the sanctuary during worship.  This ministry is open to members of the church who are willing to serve for the glory of God.  The Usher Ministry is composed of three components:

(1) The Antioch Adult Ushers 

      (a) a mixed adult group

  (b) a women's group

  (c) a men's group

(2) The Antioch Youth Ushers

(3) The Antioch Greeters

Church School

This ministry is designed to teach the scripture with an emphasis on evangelism.  The church school also is designed to further the Christian's knowledge of the Word of God.  Those gifted with the gift of teaching should give prayerful consideration of serving in this ministry.  The church school consists of six departments:

(1) Adult Department

(2) Youth /Junior Department

(3) Primary /Pre-School/Nursery Department 

(4) Home Bound*

Discipleship Ministry 

This ministry is designed to develop the believer through bible study and other bible related courses.  The intent of this ministry is to prepare Christians for the work of the ministry.  The discipleship ministry also instructs the newcomer to Antioch.   Those gifted in teaching should give prayerful consideration to serving in this ministry.

Women's Ministry

This ministry is composed of the women of the church and is designed to foster sisterhood through devotional lessons, ministry and fellowship.

It is the mission of the Antioch Women's Ministry to be dedicated Christian women, committed to service, shaping the lives of women and girls for Christ. Our goal is to enhance the spiritual growth and development of the women and girls of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church and the community through the application of Biblical principles and the creation of opportunities for personal and spiritual growth. This goal will be achieved through Christian education workshops, interactive fellowships, training, lesson study, mentoring, outreach, prayer and worship.

This ministry consists of four circles, Girls in Action and W.O.M.A.N. Women are members of each circle based on their birth month, but are free to serve wherever they feel the Lord leads them.

Brotherhood

This ministry is composed of the men of the church.  The brotherhood is designed to foster a close relationship between the brothers of the church through bible study, fellowship and ministry.   A.M.E.N. which is a component of the brotherhood, provides the brothers of the church an opportunity to be involved in evangelistic work.  The brotherhood is to develop a comprehensive program for the young men of the church.*

W.O.M.A.N. (Women's Outreach Ministry Addressing Needs)

This ministry is made up of women of the church who are especially interested in outreach ministry. This ministry is designed to provide a hands on opportunity to wholisticly minister to the needs among and around us.

Kitchen Ministry

This ministry provides culinary delights which enhance fellowship.  This ministry when called upon provides meals to the elderly and those passing by in need.  This ministry is in need of persons who love the Lord and don't mind working hard

Widows' Ministry

The Widow's Ministry is design to minister to widows primarily of Antioch but not exclusively.  This ministry seeks to provide an opportunity for widows can strength through fellowship and a sundry of activities.

Bereavement Ministry

This ministry is designed to support families who have experienced the loss of a loved one.  The ministry serves as a liaison between the church and the bereaved family.  Among the services provided are: planning the service program, consoling and praying with the family, contacting other ministries and units of the church that are involved in the service preparation.

Media Ministry

This ministry provides the church with audio recordings of worship services.  The ministry also shares recordings with the sick and shut-in.  This ministry is need of persons who don't mind working.

The Antioch Technology Ministry

This ministry is designed to recognize and affirm the importance of multimedia and computer technologies within Antioch.  Antioch Missionary Baptist Church of Christ (AMBC) has created its own WEB site at www.antiochhouston.org.  The WEB site will share information about AMBC with the world and provide an electronic communication source to the Church congregation.

Publishing

This ministry is responsible for the production of church programs and other documentation.  If you are skilled in journalism, give prayerful consideration about serving in this ministry which blesses the congregation.

The Antioch Prayer Ministry

This ministry is designed for members of this congregation to come together for special times of prayer. Particular emphasis is placed on prayers for the ministry of this church.

The Young Adult Ministry

This ministry consists of young adult men and women who gather together to study the Word of God, perform outreach ministry and nurture their relationships as brothers and sisters in Christ . 

Intercessory Prayer

This ministry is composed of those who willingly pray for others in the areas of spiritual growth, spiritual development, life crisis, salvation, and any other prayer request.

Christian Education

This ministry is designed with a teaching emphasis.  It is designed to give structure and guidance to those who are a part of or wish to be apart of the teaching ministry.

Health Awareness

This ministry is designed to make aware our health consciousness  as well as our spiritual consciousness.    It focuses on maintaining good health through general information and maintenance of the body.

The Young Men's Christian Corps

This ministry is designed to provide Christian guidance for our teenage boys as they make the journey from boyhood to manhood. This is done through bible study, leadership development and service through the ministry of this church.

The Young Women's Christian Corps

This ministry is designed to provide Christian guidance for our teenage girls as they make the journey moving from being girls to becoming young women. This is done through bible study, leadership development and service through the ministry of this church.

Good Samaritans

This ministry seeks to meet the needs of senior members and semi-ambulatory members of this congregation. Services are given by request and with confidentiality.
